TECH UV BLOCK: Dermacool a knitted fabric with UPF 50+. It has high thermal stability and high UV light absorption. This prevents sunburn and reduces UV light skin damage.
ANTIBACTERIAL: Dermacool contains Zinc Oxide, which has antibacterial properties that helps to reduce risk of infection.
CLINICALLY EFFECTIVE: Dermacool clinically been shown to improve SCORAD and Health-Related Quality of Life scores significantly at Day 7 and Day 14 in an assessor blinded controlled trial for children with moderate to severe eczema.
Eczema can be difficult to manage.
A key success factor in managing eczema is protection - protecting the skin from dryness, irritation & scratching. It is not easy to alleviate eczema if the skin is dry, irritated or broken due to itch and scratching. Bacterial infections due to scratching will also worsen eczema, causing difficult-to-treat flare ups.
Wet wrap therapy is one method to quickly reduce the severity of eczema, and is often used in cases of significant eczema flare ups and difficult-to-treat conditions.
A major study of wet wrap therapy in children with moderate to severe eczema showed an average reduction of symptoms by 71%.
Dermacool provides a natural solution in keeping the skin hydrated and protected from irritants and scratching.
Dermacool as Wet Wrap Therapy: Dermacool as wet wrap therapy appears to help by: decreasing water loss; increasing topical medication absorption; providing a physical barrier against scratching. (See Figures 1 & 2.)
